Shoes & Foot Care
How do the right shoes help?
- Symptoms of peripheral neuropathy tend to affect the feet
- Especially with length-dependent peripheral neuropathy, symptoms start with the feet and can often cause pain and burning, which makes walking painful
- The right shoes can allow you to walk with significantly less pain, whether it’s shoes you wear outside or shoes you wear in your home
- Aspects to look for include: strong support, cushioning, big toe box, variable widths, extra depth, arch support, and insoles to distribute pressure
Our Members Suggest
- “The Bondi Line from Hoka One One has really helped me. My foot numbness causes me to sometimes stomp on the ground too hard and hurt myself that way when I’m walking, so the extra cushioning from the Bondi shoe has been great.” – Diva Parekh
- “I wear Brooks. They have a mesh lining and a wide toe box.” – Bill Porter
