Related Medical Conditions
Here are some conditions that tend to go hand-in-hand with peripheral neuropathy. These conditions’ link with peripheral neuropathy is still being studied, but in many cases even if research cannot outline cause vs. effect, it has confirmed a correlation. We have compiled resources on these particular conditions, but if you don’t see one you’re interested in learning about below, feel free to fill out the form at the bottom of this page and we will add information about it as soon as we can.

Erythromelalgia
- Erythromelalgia is a condition that affects the extremities, causing redness
- It can often cause the feet and hands to heat up and can be relieved by cooling
- While not directly caused by peripheral nerve issues, researchers have found strong correlations between the two conditions
Fibromyalgia
- Autoimmune diseases occur when your immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy tissue in your body
- Some of these diseases, attack nerve tissue directly and others cause inflammatory responses which damage peripheral nerves
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)
- Long-term vitamin deficiency, particularly with B vitamins, can cause peripheral nerve damage
- This type of damage can often be resolved by bringing the vitamin levels back to normal
Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes
- Ehlers-Danlos is an inheritable condition that weakens connective tissue, particularly in the skin and joints
- Weak connective tissue can lead to damage in muscle and nerve tissues
