UC researchers can “see” pain in the brain

University of California researchers have mapped areas of the brain that show pain. This is good news for those of us who deal with what is known as our “invisible” disease.

“It is the first time researchers have decoded the brain activity underlying chronic pain in patients, raising hopes that brain stimulation therapies already used for Parkinson’s and major depression can help those who have run out of other options”, says the article.

Thanks to Glenn Ribotsky for this “heads up”. Glenn serves on the board of the Western Neuropathy Association.
